Couple Arrested for Bail Violations

On September 24, 2015 at approximately 7 p.m. officers in Chatham located a male and female party walking in the area of Queen Street. Officers were familiar with the parties and aware of conditions for the two not to associate with each other due to prior criminal offences. The 45 year old Chatham man was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and the 35 year old Wallaceburg female was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance.

Further investigation revealed that the male was in possession of stolen property. He was subsequently charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.

Both parties were released from custody with future court dates.

Woman Arrested for Theft

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant.

On September 13, 2015 Chatham-Kent Police attended the Sears store at 130 King Street West, Chatham for a theft complaint. Information was received that a female suspect stole $150 worth of goods.

On September 24, 2015 around 11:00 p.m. police located and arrested the suspect. A 34 year old female from Wallaceburg was charged with Theft and Possession Under $5000. She was later released from custody with a court date.

Theft of Copper Wire

Sometime during the past week an unknown person(s) stole $3,000 to $4000 worth of Copper Wire from the rail yard off of Murray Street, Chatham.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Around 10:30 p.m. yesterday evening, police responded to a two vehicle collision at Middle Line in Merlin.

Four occupants in the collision were treated by paramedics and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Total damage was estimated at $25000.

A 71-year-old man was charged with Careless Driving.
