(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a recent robbery.
On February 14, 2014, at approximately 0230 hrs, the male occupant of an apartment situated along the 100 block of Augusta Avenue allowed a lone male into his apartment. The occupant knew the male by appearance only through another acquaintance. The pair chatted for some time until the suspect made a demand for cash from the occupant, and then assaulted him. A struggle ensued during which the victim was struck with a metal bar. The suspect then fled empty handed. The victim sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described as being a black male, 20-25 years of age, unshaven, black hair, medium build (see attached image.)
