(Ottawa) On December 9, 2013, Ottawa Police Service West District Neighborhood Officers responded to a complaint of suspicious activity in the 400 block of Greenview Avenue.
As a result, the Central District Investigation team launched an investigation into Human Trafficking which led to one male being charged with a series of offenses.
Zhao LIU, 31 years old, of Ottawa, was charged with:
Trafficking in persons by recruiting
Trafficking in persons by exercising control
Financial/material benefit
Live on avails of prostitution/victim over 18 (two counts)
Keep common bawdy-house
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
