(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 140 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions, marine calls, assaults and impaired drivers.
On September 10, 2016 at approximately 2:01 a.m., officers from the Orillia OPP conducted a traffic stop on Barrie Road in the City of Orillia. After further investigation the driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene.
Keith MCBRIDE, 35 years old of Rama, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on October 4, 2016.
On September 10, 2016 at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Janes Line in Severn Township. When officers arrived at the scene they were advised by the complainant that a male party had rolled an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on the road and then fled on foot. After further investigation the ATV was discovered to be stolen from a nearby residence. The Central Region Canine Unit and Emergency Response Unit (ERT) attended the scene and located the male after a short search.
Alexandre BRUNELLE, 27 years old of Essa Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol, Break and Enter, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
