(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the long weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 232 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions and impaired drivers.
On May 21, 2016 at approximately 10:17 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Cambrian Road in Severn Township. After further investigation the driver was arrested after failing a roadside breath test.
Gregory BURNETT, 32 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on June 7, 2016.
On May 23, 2016 at approximately 12:33 p.m., Orillia OPP was dispatched to a possible impaired driver on Mississaga Street in the City of Orillia. Officers located and stopped the vehicle on County Road 169 in Ramara Township. The driver was arrested at the scene.
James WRIGHT, 63 years old of Ramara Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on June 7, 2016.
