(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a fraud after being contacted by concerned resident at a Concession 7, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
Between Friday, August 15, 2014 and Saturday, August 16, 2014 a resident located an ad on a website for concert tickets that were for sale. Communication was established at which time a price was negotiated. Funds were subsequently forwarded to the seller however no tickets were ever received.
Some scam artists use stolen photos in their ads, claiming they are pictures of concert tickets for sale. Actually, the seller does not have the tickets that he/she is trying to sell. The seller will ask for money in advance however the buyer waits for few days and when they do not receive the tickets, attempt to contact the seller, receiving no answer.
