(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are presently on the westbound Highway 401 between Port Hope and Newtonville where several vehicles have either gone into the ditch or are holding up traffic in the live lanes.
Police are asking motorists to exercise caution in this area while officers investigate and remove any vehicles. It is believed that those travelling in that area were held up because of the snow plows clearing the 401 and possibly travelling too fast for road conditions. The 401 is open to traffic and no serious injuries have been reported.
OPP advise motorists to SLOW DOWN while travelling in the changing road conditions.
