(PENETANGUISHENE, ON) On Monday June 1, 2015 a local resident of Penetanguishene who suffers from dementia had wondered away from her residence on Dube Dr. in the town of Penetanguishene. Several members of the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine officers attended and assisted the local detachment members in hopes of locating 83 year old Yvonne WALKER quickly.
Many of the officers made comment about how great the neighbours were in the area that Mrs. WALKER lived. Many offered to help in searching for her and most stayed throughout the night to assist whenever and wherever they could.
Inspector Andrew Ferguson, detachment commander for Southern Georgian Bay detachment would like to personally thank the public and neighbours in their perseverance and assistance throughout the night and early morning hours in hopes of locating Mrs. Walker. “You made a difficult task that much easier. The safety of our residences especially of our seniors is everyone’s concern.”
