OPP Seize Methamphetamine

(Bruce Peninsula – Saugeen First Nations, ON) – On Thursday, 22 May, 2014, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Bruce Peninsula OPP were involved with an investigation that resulted in a traffic stop of a vehicle on Highway 21, Saugeen First Nations, Bruce County.

As a result of the execution of the traffic stop, the occupants of the motor vehicle were arrested. The occupants and the vehicle were searched.

As a result of the search, police seized methamphetamine with an estimated street value of approximately $3,020.00. Police also seized cash, a cellular phone, and the vehicle as offence related property. The estimated, combined value of the seized offence related property was $5,200.00.

The following are charged possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking:

Phillip RITCHIE (46 years of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation),

and

Brendan RITCHIE (24 years of Saugeen First Nation),

Phillip RITCHIE was also charged with 2 counts of Failing to Comply with conditions of his Recognizance.

They were both held in custody for bail hearings.
