(GOULAIS TOWNSHIP, ON) – At approximately 5:15 pm on August 4, 2016 Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a 911 call regarding an overturned boat in Haviland Bay on Lake Superior.
There were two males on a boat that overturned. One male made it to shore. The other male is still missing.
Sault Ste. Marie OPP Marine Unit is on scene. The OPP Helicopter has been deployed and is enroute to the area. The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Search and Rescue Unit has also been deployed and is enroute. Also assisting in the search are Goulais Fire and Rescue and Sault Search and Rescue.
