(KAPUSKASING, ON) -In the late afternoon hours of Sunday, October 13, 2013, Kapuskasing Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a barricaded person call on Brunetville Rd. in Kapuskasing.
Following a cursory investigation by the responding officers, the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and a member of the OPP Crisis Negotiation Team were dispatched to the involved residence. The specialized OPP units performed the containment of the residence and negotiated the barricaded male’s safe and voluntary surrender.
The 27 year old male from Kapuskasing was subsequently apprehended for his own safety and transported to the Kapuskasing Sensenbrenner Hospital for medical assessment.
As a result of the investigation, no charges have been laid and names and further details will not be disclosed due to the nature of the event.
