OPP REMIND ALL RESIDENTS TO LOCK THEIR DOORS AFTER RESIDENCE ENTERED AND PURSE TAKEN

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding area residents to make home security a top priority each and every day after a theft was reported at a Southgate Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2013 at approximately 5:28 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned homeowner after an unknown person entered their residence while they were in the backyard preparing the property for the upcoming winter months.

Through investigation it was determined that an unknown suspect entered the residence and removed a purse that contained personal and financial information.

The OPP are reminding all homeowners to ensure that their residence is locked at all times.

Unfortunately thieves look for every opportunity to take your cash, credit cards and personal property. Taking some simple but effective precautions can help make your home safe and secure.
