(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding area residents to make home security a top priority each and every day.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at approximately 2:12 p.m., police were contacted by concerned homeowners after an unknown person entered their residence while they were sleeping. The residents were awoken after hearing the back door to their home being opened.
Through investigation it was determined that an unknown suspect entered the residence through an unlocked back door. Once inside the unknown suspect opened the fridge located in the residence however nothing was taken.
The OPP are reminding all residence to ensure that their residence is locked at all times.
Unfortunately thieves look for every opportunity to take your cash, credit cards and personal property. Taking some simple but effective precautions can help make your home safe and secure.
