(COCHRANE, ON) -On March 21, 2014, the Cochrane and Smooth Rock Falls Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), assisted by the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) executed a search warrant at a property situated on Fantham Road, near the town of Fauquier, Ontario as a result of an ongoing stolen All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) investigation.
During the search of the involved property, police located and recovered a 2010 Artic Cat 700 ATV which had been reported stolen from the Temiskaming area back in July of 2012.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged 57 year old male Yvon VIENO of Timmins, Ontario with the offence of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused has been released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Smooth Rock Falls on June 6, 2014 to answer to his charge.
Subsequent to the successful police investigation, the recovered ATV was returned to the owner from Keswick, Ontario.
