OPP LAY THEFT AND DRUG CHARGES

(IROQUOIS FALLS, ON) – Members with the Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged a local woman stemming from an incident of theft at a local hospital on April 21, 2014.

OPP officers, working in conjunction with the South Porcupine OPP Crime Unit, have concluded an investigation into a theft of narcotics including Fentanyl, Ketamine, Morphine and Phenobarbital. A Search Warrant was obtained and all of the drugs were recovered.

As a result, the OPP have arrested and charged Erin Lee BLOUIN, 45, of Iroquois Falls with:

One count of Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code (CC);

One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to CC;

Four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) and with

One count of Trafficking contrary to the CDSA.

The accused has been released on a promise to appear and undertaking.

Police want to remind the public that these types of drugs are very dangerous and could easily have been mishandled and caused harm to the public should they have made their way to the streets.
