(COCHRANE, ON) -During an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) led investigation on December 17, 2013, the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB)-Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Cochrane OPP intercepted and supressed the drug trafficking efforts of a male and female couple.
During the execution of a Search Warrant at a residence on Concession 4 and 5 Road in the town of Cochrane, OPP officers seized a cash of illicit drugs, Canadian currency and firearms without incident.
As a result of a coordinated police effort, an estimated street value of $1,144 of Cannabis Marihuana along with three long guns and nearly $500 in Canadian currency were seized from the involved residence.
The accused, 27 year old male, Bobby BEGIN and 25 year old female, Donna SEARLES, of Cochrane, Ontario, have both been charged with one count of Drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA), one count of Careless use of firearms and one count of Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused male and female are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on January 28, 2014 to answer to their charges.
