(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at a Hume Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, ON address.
On Friday, July 26, 2013 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the residence and gained entry into the garage. Once inside, unknowns entered an unlocked motor vehicle and removed a wallet containing personal and financial information along with Canadian currency. Unknowns then removed an inoperable flint lock rifle, two air pistols, mig welder, stick welder, 22 inch Stihl chainsaw, socket sets, fishing tackle and two fishing rods from the garage.
The theft is valued at approximately $11,000 dollars.
The OPP want to remind all Norfolk County residents that if they observed anyone acting suspicious in or around their property or your neighbours property to please contact the police.
The OPP recognize that break and enters continue to remain an all-too common occurrence in Canada, with more than 200,000 reported to police annually of which 6 in 10 are residential. Another 30% are businesses and 10% are other locations such as sheds and detached garages.
