OPP INVESTIGATING AFTER ROOFING DEBRIS HITS VEHICLE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a traffic complaint at a Fourteenth Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Monday, November 3, 2014 at approximately 2:48 p.m., a vehicle was travelling west bound along Fourteenth Street when a pick-up truck carrying roofing shingles flew out of the truck striking a following vehicle.

The shingles struck the vehicle and startled the driver. The driver was able to safely stop the motor vehicle without being involved in a collision and immediately contacted the police.

This is a very dangerous act that had the potential to cause a collision and injury to the operator of the vehicle or another innocent motorist travelling on the roadway. Police are reminding all motorists to secure all loads that are being transported in their vehicles.
