(COLBORNE, ON) – On Saturday October 4, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were sent to a disturbance on King Street in the village of Colborne at about 2:14 am where several people were reported to be yelling and screaming.
Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was already on scene when OPP officers arrived and found a 20 year old male victim with blood on his face and being taken into the ambulance. Police started an investigation with witnesses at the scene and determined that the male was assaulted by another male outside the Mac’s Milk Convenience store and left the scene in a motor vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital with very serious but non-life threatening injuries.
OPP followed up on the information provided and the male suspect turned himself into the Brighton OPP detachment in the evening hours of October 4, 2014.
Anatoliy (Anthony) ZEMTSOV, 25 from Mississauga, Ontario has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm under the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 9:30 am.
