OPP INVESTIGATE OVERNIGHT CRASH IN TAY TOWNSHIP

(Tay Township, On)- Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched at 10:30pm Oct 21,2013 to a single vehicle crash on Gratrix Road in Tay Township.

A 21 year old Tay Township male driver of the car that left the roadway sustained serious injuries and was treated at the the scene by Simcoe County Paramedics and transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital where he flown by Ornge to a Toronto area hospital for further treatment. A male passenger in the car was uninjured in the crash.

Scene officers were assisted by the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigations (TTCI) unit along with Tay Township Fire Service.

Investigators are looking into whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. Gratrix Road is now fully open for traffic.
