(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision at a Brantford Road, Windham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at approximately 5:58 p.m., the Norfolk County OPP, Norfolk County Fire Services and Norfolk County Paramedics along with Brant County Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a transport truck and a motor vehicle.
Investigation has determined that the transport truck was travelling northbound on Brantford Road and a motor vehicle was travelling southbound when both vehicles collided head-on. The motor vehicle subsequently caught fire which was extinguished by attending fire fighters.
The driver of the vehicle sustained serious life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the attending Coroner. The driver of the transport truck was not physically injured during this collision.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Brantford Road between Windham Road 2 and Burford-Delhi Towline Road will be closed for approximately 8 hours to allow for further investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
