OPP INVESTIGATE DROWNING ON ADA LAKE

(Bracebridge, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Bracebridge Detachment is investigating the drowning of a male in the Township of Muskoka Lakes.

On the October 19, 2013 at approximately 4:30 pm members of the Bracebridge OPP responded to a call for a drowning at Ada Lake in the Township of Muskoka Lakes. The male had been in a paddle boat and was later located unresponsive in the water

The male was identified as 22-year-old Kyle CORBETT of Mississauga.

The Bracebridge OPP is reminding everyone to practice safe boating and the importance of wearing a personal floatation device (PFD). Most drownings happen unexpectedly when small boats capsize or someone falls overboard. The PFD left behind is of no use, especially in cold water.
