OPP INVESTIGATE CHILD’S DEATH 2013-07-30 (BIG TROUT LAKE, ON) – On July 29, 2013 at approximately 8:40am members of the Big Trout Lake Police attended at the Big Trout Lake Nursing Station with respect to the death of a six week old female identified as Shantelle SAINNAWAP from Big Trout Lake. The child had been transported to the nursing station by a family member seeking medical aid and was subsequently pronounced dead.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Crime Unit is assisting the regional Coroner in conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. A post mortem examination will be conducted in Toronto July 31, 2013.
The investigation is continuing.
