(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On September 7th, 2014, at approximately 6:40 pm, Officers from the Barrie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bass Lake sideroad and Line 2. Upon arrival the officers observed a vehicle sitting in a driveway with front end damage. Investigation revealed a Dodge SRT struck a parked vehicle and the parked vehicle then struck a home that sustained structural damage. The parked vehicle was a 2000 Dodge viper worth approximately 65,000, it sustained major damage as result of the crash. The Dodge SRT was traveling in a group of three vehicles that were driving excessively fast and in the opposing lane. The SRT failed to stop at the stop sign and went airborne landing halfway across the road then continued into a driveway hitting a parked Dodge Viper.
The road was closed for several hours while the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit attended to assist with the investigation.
Calvin NERO 28 years old of Barrie is charged with“Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicleâ€Â. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on October 20th 2014.
