(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of the Bracebridge detachment is investigating an attempted robbery on the weekend.
On Saturday August 16, 2014 at 12:10 pm Bracebridge OPP members responded to the Ice Cream Shoppe on Manitoba Street, in the town of Bracebridge. A male suspect had entered the store and demanded money from the employee while holding a knife in his hand. The employee backed away from the suspect and the suspect immediately fled on foot.
There were no injuries to anyone involved and there was no money taken by the suspect.
The area was searched by police and the suspect was not located. The Muskoka Crime Unit is currently investigating the incident. The OPP is asking for any information regarding this crime to be provided to police by calling 705-645-2211 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
The male suspect is described as wearing a grey/black baggy hooded sweatshirt, with a black covering over his face, he is approximately 5’6†-5’8â€Â, with a stocky build.
