(Chatham-Kent, ON) The OPP Fall Seat Belt Campaign continues to run from September 26 to October 13, 2013. During that time, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers will be highly visible enforcing and raising awareness of seat belt laws in an effort to change driving behaviour and save lives.
The Chatham-Kent OPP, RUSAFE CK and the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit will also be providing an educational child seat safety clinic on the 9th of October, 2013. The program will run on a first come first serve basis and will be held at Victory Ford, 301 Richmond Street in Chatham, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We encourage all vehicle motorists to bring their child restraint and child to the car seat clinic in order to properly evaluate if the child restraint is appropriate and if it is properly installed.
Seat belts and Child restraint systems have been proven time and time again to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries in a motor vehicle collision. Wearing a seat belt can make the difference between life and death.
