OPP EXECUTE WARRANT FOR FIREARMS

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Bracebridge detachment executed a warrant on a residence in Bracebridge and recovered firearms, charging two people with firearms related offences.

On November 13, 2013 the members of Muskoka Vice, the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and members of the Bracebridge Detachment executed search warrants. The OPP recovered one civil war cannon and one wheel-lock pistol, both had been reported stolen, 8 rifles, a handgun, and assorted ammunition.

William CURNEW 50-year-old male from Bracebridge has been charged with

CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
CC 354(1)(a) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
CC 117.01(1) Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
CC 86(2) Breach of Firearms Regulation

Jeanette CURNEW 47-year-old female from Bracebridge has been charged with

CC 86(2) Breach of Firearms Regulation
CC 91(1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

They will attend Bracebridge Court on January 14, 2014 to answer to their charges.
