(EDWARDSBURGH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 10, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grenville Detachment responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on County Road 2 at Mary Street in Edwardsburgh Township involving an OPP cruiser and civilian vehicle.
The lone male driver of the civilian vehicle was transported to hospital with serious but non- life threatening injuries, he remains in hospital.
The officer was also transported to hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended and will be assisting with the investigation.
The province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was notified by the OPP and has invoked its mandate. Any further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at 416-622-2342.
