OPP Civic Holiday Update – No Deaths

(Huron County, ON) From the evening of Friday, July 30, 2010 until the evening of Monday, August 2, 2010 Huron OPP officers were sent to approximately 175 occurrences. In between the calls for service, Huron OPP officers did over 100 person hours of RIDE patrols throughout the county including the beaches on OPP ATV’s and on the water.

In total, 72 Provincial Statute charges were laid including speeding, liquor offences and insurance offences. Four people had their drivers’ licences suspended for 3 days after blowing “Warns” on the roadside alcotest device. One driver was charged with Impaired Driving and another driver was charged with Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm as well as Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm.

Despite the hectic pace faced by officers, the Huron OPP is happy to report no deaths or life threatening injuries coming out of the weekend events. Now we will begin to prepare for the Labour Day holiday!
