(KAPUSKASING, ON) – An officer with the Highway Safety Division of the South Porcupine Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 19 year old Kapuskasing, Ontario man as a result of a traffic stop on Bonnieview Road, Kapuskasing, on October 11, 2014.
While conducting traffic patrol of Bonnieview Road in Kapuskasing, an OPP officer observed a vehicle being driven at speeds of 50 kilometers over the posted limit.
As a result of the traffic stop and police investigation, the driver, James Francis EMPEY, was charged with race a motor vehicle section 172. (1), as per the Highway Traffic Act. In addition his driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on December 10, 2014.
