(NIPIGON, ON) -Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment stopped an east bound Jeep Grand Cherokee on Hwy 17 in Corrigal Township for speeding, on August 3rd at 9:43 a.m… The male driver of the vehicle was breaching a recognizance of bail and subsequently arrested.
Further investigation and search of the vehicle revealed nearly $27,000 in cash and 20 grams of “crack†cocaine hidden in the vehicle.
30 year old Vernie Junior FERRIGON of Saskatoon Saskatchewan has been charged with one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code, and two counts of Fail to Comply with a Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code. FERRIGON has also been charged with speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
35 year old Gregory Carlyle McIntosh of Regina Saskatchewan has been charged with one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.
Both men have been held in custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail pending a Show Cause court appearance.
