OPP Charge Two In Robbery – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – On Friday April 28, 2017 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Robbery at a residence on Gill Street in the City of Orillia.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. police were dispatched to an Orillia residence on Gill Street in response to a reported Robbery. Officers responded to the residence where it was learned that two suspects had fled the residence prior to the arrival of police. Descriptions of the two males were provided to police. Both suspects were arrested a short time later, on Mary Street, without further incident.

The Orillia OPP Crime Unit, Central Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and Central Region Canine Unit (K9) were called in to assist with the investigation. The weapon used in the Robbery was recovered.

Police have charged, 19 year old Oluwaseun OJO of Etobicoke with the following offences:

Robbery With a Firearm Contrary to Section 344(1)(1.a) of the Criminal Code.

Assault With a Weapon Contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code.

Two counts of Breach of Probation Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Police have also charged, 24 year old Kadeem RICHARDS of Etobicoke with the following offences:

Robbery With a Firearm Contrary to Section 344(1)(1.a) of the Criminal Code.

Two counts of Breach of Probation Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Both accused have been remanded into custody and are scheduled for a bail hearing at the Barrie Court of Justice on May 1, 2017.
