OPP CHARGE THREE STUNT DRIVERS WITHIN TWO DAYS

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have charged three drivers with Racing A Motor Vehicle between October 19, 2014, just after 12:30 p.m., and October 20, 2014, just after 10 p.m.

On October 19, 2014, just after 12:30 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound near Blacks Road, when the officer observed a BMW vehicle that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 158 km/hr.

That same afternoon, just after 4 p.m., a Chevrolet vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 401 near Orford Road registered a speed of 160 km/hr.

The following day, on October 20, 2014, just after 10 p.m., a Chevrolet vehicle traveling eastbound near Harwich Road registered a speed of 166 km/hr.

In each instance, the driver’s licence was been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
