OPP CHARGE THREE STUNT DRIVERS IN TWO HOURS

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On November 9, 2014, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401.

Just before 8:30 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Mazda car, near Harwich Road, that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 159 km/hr. A 27 year old female from Markham has been charged with racing.

Just over an hour later, at approximately 9:30 p.m., near Victoria Road, an officer observed an eastbound Acura car that registered a speed of 160 km/hr. A 28 year old male from North York has been charged with racing.

Just after 10:30 p.m., the same evening, again near Victoria Road, an officer observed a westbound KIA car that registered a speed of 153 km/hr. A 26 year old male from Toronto has been charged with racing.

All three drivers’ licences have been suspended and the vehicles impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
