(NAPANEE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Napanee Crime Unit have charged 3 men in relation to road and rail blockades that occurred between Sunday, March 2 and Saturday, March 8, 2014.
On March 8, 2014 four (4) people were arrested after protesters blocked the CN Rail line that crosses Wyman Road in Tyendinaga Township. One person was released unconditionally.
Charged are:
1. Shawn BRANT, 49 of Tyendinaga Territory with 2 counts of Mischief.
2. Marc BAILLE, 27 of Kingston with Mischief Over $5000, Assault with a Weapon, Weapon Dangerous and Breach of Probation
3. Matthew DOREEN, 38 of Tyendinaga Territory with Obstruct Police and Mischief.
All were held in custody to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Napanee on March 9, 2014.
Brant and Doreen were released and are scheduled to appear in Napanee court on April 1, 2014. Baille was remanded to appear on Monday, March 10, 2014.
The investigation is continuing. Further charges may be laid.
