OPP CHARGE FAIL TO STOP IMPAIRED DRIVER

(Ottawa, ON) -The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver and his passenger after an incident that occurred on Highway 417 eastbound near Greenbank Road.

On April 3, 2014, at approximately 6:37 pm, an OPP officer was entering Highway 417 eastbound from Greenbank Road.

The officer tried to stop a green car but the driver failed to stop for police. With the help of the Ottawa Police Service, the vehicle was stopped. During the stop, a police vehicle was struck by the suspect’s vehicle.

The investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking and the vehicle was stolen. No one was injured as of result of the collisions.

The male driver, 23 year old Nathan LUCKOVITCH of Ottawa, was charged with:

Impaired Driving,

Dangerous Driving,

Flight from Police and

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ottawa on April 4, 2014.

The male passenger, 41 year old Luc SERRE of South Dundas, was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
