OPP CATCH MARIHUANA HARVESTERS IN THE ACT

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) On October 6, 2014 at around 2:00 p.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to Blue Heron Road in the area of Egremont Road in response to two suspicious males on bicycles in the area.

Officers attended and confronted two males who were coming out of a corn field with freshly harvested marihuana plants. The males were arrested and an undisclosed amount of marihuana plants with an estimated street value of approximately $100,000 have been seized.

Thirty year old Jacob DEWHIRST, who is from Petrolia, and 53 year old Russell DUNN, who is from London, were held for bail and will appear in a Sarnia court at a later time to answer to the charges of:

Possession of a controlled substance.

Possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Mischief under $5000.

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Lambton County OPP reminds people to report suspicious activity to police immediately. Gather as much descriptive information as possible and call police so officers can attend to look into the situation.
