(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – At approximately 3:52 pm on Thursday January 30, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended to a motor vehicle collision in Hamilton Township where it was reported that a white van flew off the roadway and into the ditch.
OPP officers attended and found a white minivan in the east ditch on County Road 28 south of Byers Road. A male and three young children were seen climbing up the embankment as Police arrived. There were no injuries reported, but Northumberland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Hamilton Township Fire Department (HFD) attended to assist. It was determined that the children were a boy and two girls ages 6, 8 and 10 years of age respectively.
OPP conducted a thorough investigation into the collision and have arrested Jeffery Angus FANJOY, 38 from Brighton, Ontario.
He has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with blood alcohol content over 80 milligrams under the Criminal Code. The accused is also suspended from driving for 90 days and vehicle has been impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday February 19, 2014 in Cobourg.
