(PERRY TWP, ON) On Wednesday January 15, 2014, the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a theft at the Foodland Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) in Novar, Ontario.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. the accused attended the store and attempted to shoplift a bottle of Canadian Club Whiskey when an employee of the store stopped the male from leaving. OPP attended the store and arrested Raymond STEELE (30) of Burk’s Falls Ontario. The accused charged with theft under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and being intoxicated in a public place, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario.
The accused was later released from police custody and is to appear in court on Thursday February 27, 2014 in Sundridge Court.
