(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Two separate encounters resulted in the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) finding open alcohol in a motor vehicle.
On January 25, 2014 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP approached a vehicle located in the parking lot of the arena in Fenelon Falls and observed open alcohol in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation Warren GEORGE, 21 years of age, of Highlands East, was charged with having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
Also on that date an officer conducted a vehicle stop on Bradley Street, near John Street in the Pontypool area and observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
As a result of that investigation the driver, Matthew MUIR, 30 years of age, of Pontypool was charged with having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor, contrary to the LLA.
