One Airlifted Following Head On Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating a two vehicle collision that left a male seriously injured. The collision occurred at a North Shore Drive, Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario address.

On Monday April 30, 2018 at 7:36 a.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County paramedics responded to North Shore Drive near Rymer Road for a two vehicle head on collision after a passerby stopped to assist and noticed both drivers were injured and one of them was trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Haldimand County Fire Services extricated the 64-year old male from the vehicle who was then transported to a local area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The male was later transported by Ornge Air Ambulance to an out of town hospital.

The male driver in the other involved vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

North Shore Drive was closed for approximately three hours while emergency crews were on scene.

OPP continue to investigate and is asking anyone who may have witnessed or have any information regarding this collision to contact them at 1- 888 – 310 – 1122.
