The Township of North Huron Council at their March 7, 2016 Council Meeting established a Policing Advisory Committee.
The mandate of the Committee will be to conduct a Policing Review which will include an OPP costing proposal for the entire municipality, as well as consideration to extending the Wingham Police Service to the Wards of Blyth and East Wawanosh.
Appointed to the Committee were Reeve Neil Vincent, North Huron Police Services Board Chair Trevor Seip, North Huron Police Services Board Vice-Chair Bill Gregoriadis, Wingham Chief of Police Tim Poole, CAO Sharon Chambers and Clerk Kathy Adams.
The Advisory Committee will be developing Terms of Reference consistent with the North Huron Procedural By-law and Committee Appointment By-law.
During a service delivery review undertaken by Council in 2015, policing was identified as one of Council’s service review priorities.
