Officer Struck In Head

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a Central Huron resident with Assault Police and other criminal charges following an incident that took place in Clinton recently.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Huron OPP responded to an apartment complex on James Street to investigate a report of a male that was causing a disturbance with another tenant. Investigators determined the male had threatened and gestured to cause harm against another tenant at the complex.

When the investigating officer attempted to apprehend the suspect he immediately resisted arrest and struck the officer in the head. Further, the accused made threats toward the officer.

The injured officer was treated at a local hospital and was released with a head injury.

Jesse HILL, 30 years of age from Clinton has been charged with: Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault and two counts of Utter Threats.

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 24, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
