Officer Facing Breach Of Trust & Obstruct Justice Charge

(GUELPH, ON) – On June 5, 2018, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), with the assistance of West Region OPP Crime Unit, commenced an investigation following allegations of wrongdoing by one of our members.

As a result, Sergeant Shawn JONES, a 29 year member, currently serving at the Wellington County Detachment has been charged with:

Obstruct Justice, section 139 of the Criminal Code (CC) and with

Breach of Trust, section 122 of the CC.

The officer has been suspended with pay. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on August 28, 2018.
