(PEMBROKE, ON) – On March 2, 2016 at approximately 4:25pm two members of the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a personal injury motor vehicle collision in Laurentian Valley Township.
As the OPP 2014 Ford SUV, with emergency lights and siren activated, proceeded south bound on Paul Martin Drive, it collided with a west bound 2004 Ford truck which was towing an empty flatbed trailer.
The 2004 Ford truck, driven by 25 year old Andrew Hein of Pembroke, struck a 2015 Honda SUV, driven by 41 year old Erika Sykova of Petawawa. She was parked facing east on the side of Boundary Road.
No injuries were reported.
Provincial Constable Andrew HOWAT, 25, of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP detachment was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic under the Highway Traffic Act. He has been a member of the OPP for 4 years.
