ODELL – Drive While Suspended, Run Red Light, etc. etc.

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On March 17, 2016, at approximately 1.07 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle after the driver had failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Grey Rd. 4 and Hwy. 10 in Flesherton and disobeyed a stop sign on Road 140 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The driver, who had been drinking, was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Chatsworth Detachment for breath tests, which he failed.

23-year old Jonathan William ODELL of the Municipality of West Grey was charged with the Criminal offence of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system. He was also issued Part III Summonses for the following offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act:

– Drive Under Suspension

– Red Light – Fail to Stop

– Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle

– Disobey Stop Sign

– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Permit

– Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance.

The vehicle, a 2007 Dodge CTL, was impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence was suspended.

A court date of April 7, 2016 has been set in Owen Sound to speak to the charges.
