On September 12, 2014 at approximately 8:50 a.m. members of the OPP were traveling eastbound on Bowes Street in the Town of Parry Sound when they were flagged down from a motorist traveling the same direction.
The officer pulled to the shoulder of the road with the vehicle and spoke with the driver. The female driver was requesting directions to Toronto as she was lost. Through the conversation the officer observed damage to the front of the vehicle that had not been reported.
Investigation revealed the driver was on release conditions not to associate with several parties some of which were passengers in her vehicle. In addition the officer noted the odour of marijuana emanating from the vehicle’s interior.
As a result, 20 year old Lashaena WILLIAMS of Hamilton has been charged with fail to comply with the conditions of an undertaking contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code as well as possession of a controlled substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Williams was remanded to custody and appears in a Parry Sound bail court 15 September 2014.
Marcus BUCHANAN, 20 years of age from Hamilton, is also charged with fail to comply with undertaking section 145(5.1), obstruct police section 129(a) of the Criminal Code and possession of a controlled substance section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. BUCHANAN is also appearing in Parry Sound bail court 15 September 2014.
The two remaining male passengers, Jordan LAFRAMBROISE, 21 years of age and Julius WILSON, 20 years of age, both of Hamilton were released on Appearance Notices and will appear in a Parry Sound Court on the October 16 2014 on Possession of a Controlled Substance section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.
