(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received four reports of thefts from vehicles, involving nine vehicles.
Between approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 26, 2016 and 5:00 a.m. on January 27, 2016, culprit(s) attended a residential property in the 20700 block of Purple Hill Road. They entered unlocked vehicles on the property. Sporting equipment was stolen.
Between approximately 11:30 a.m. on January 26, 2016, and 6:30 a.m. on January 27, 2016, culprit(s) attended a residential property in the 20900 block of Purple Hill Road. They entered vehicles, and a global positioning system (GPS) was stolen, along with smaller miscellaneous items.
Between approximately 10:00 p.m. on January 26, 2016, and 10:45 a.m. on January 27, 2016, culprit(s) attended a residential property in the 20900 block of Purple Hill Road. They entered an open detached garage, and entered a vehicle. Canadian currency was stolen.
On January 29, 2016, it was reported that vehicles were entered overnight at a residential property in the 5300 block of Dundas Street. Vehicle documents and small change were stolen. The culprit(s) also attempted to gain entry to a garage on the property.
A vehicle with an unlocked door is an easy target. Protect your vehicle from theft. Always lock the doors when you park your car. Park in a well-lit area, and never leave valuables in plain view. Keep your vehicle registration certificates and proof of insurance on you at all times. Don’t leave these documents in your glove compartment. If you have a garage, use it, and lock the door, as well as your vehicle.
