(ESSEX COUNTY, ON)—A joint investigation undertaken by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) road officers, the Essex County OPP Street Crime Unit and the Essex County OPP Major Crime Unit resulted in charges being laid against two men.
Patrol officers responded to a call from a concerned citizen in Essex who witnessed suspicious activity at a residence on Brien Avenue in Essex on November 24, 2015.
Officers arrived and arrested two males at the scene.
A total of 19 criminal code charges were laid as a result of this thorough investigation.
Kyle SERES, age 26 of Essex was charged with the following offences:
Possess Firearm Obtained By Crime
Unauthorized Firearm Possession
Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
Break and Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence
Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000
Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 x 5
Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Theft Over $5000
Thiago SOUSA, age 27 of Leamington was charged with the following offences:
Break and Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence
Possession of Break and Enter Instruments
Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000
Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 x 2
Theft Over $5000
Both males will appear in a Windsor court at a later date to answer to the charges.
