Police responded to a suspicious person sitting in an SUV for three hours on a Campbellford street. Officers spoke to the elderly man who advised that he was taking a nap.
A Brighton farmer contacted police to advise that he would be ‘putting down’ one of his livestock in the event of any calls regarding gunshots
Police attended an Alnwick-Haldimand home in response to a neighbour dispute involving one person shovelling dog feces on to the others’ driveway. Officers spoke to both homes and provided advice on how to properly settle disagreements

The operator of a car containing four young adults was charged with having open liquor in a vehicle when driving on Crowe River Rd in Seymour Twp at 12:43am
Police responded to a domestic dispute at a Seymour Twp home. As a result of the investigation, the male partner was arrested and charged with Spousal Assault.
Two American $50 counterfeit bills with serial number MD46173465A were passed at the Port Hope Onroute by three youths at 6:00pm. All suspects are described as being non-white and 6’ tall. Investigation ongoing
Jan 6:
R.I.D.E. program conducted on Church St in Colborne at 9:48am. No charges resulted.
A Colborne resident reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from Revenue Canada. She recognized this as a fraud and contacted police.
A Brighton resident reported losing $5,000-10,000 dollars from her bank account after allowing a person, claiming to be from Microsoft, online access to her computer. Investigation ongoing.
Jan 7:
Report of mischief to a car parked at a parking lot on Baker St in Hastings which has been provided to pedestrians who wish to traverse the closed bridge via the walkway
Two residents reported receiving calls from fraudsters claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency. Both persons contacted police and did not provide any personal information or money.
Police advised a Brighton resident to contact a family court lawyer to assist her with an impending relationship breakup.
Northumberland OPP officers continue to conduct RIDE initiatives, 7 in total, investigated 6 accidental 911 calls, 12 motor vehicle collisions and 15 traffic related complaints.
